GAE for NGB/GIMS

GoArmyEd

As a National Guard ESS, GoArmyEd is used primarily to activate soldier accounts for Federal Tuition Assistance. Once the accounts are activated, the ESS approves or rejects TA requests based on whether the soldier meets eligibility and course planner requirements. Being that most of the counseling than an ESS does for National Guardsmen is done by phone and –mail, GoArmyEd is the primary vehicle in which counseling is done with National Guard soldiers. Guard Incentive Management System (GIMS)

The Guard Incentive Management System (GIMS) is a recently created database for Army National Guard. Established in 2012, GIMS allows individual states to manage and monitor incentives and education benefits for Soldiers via a web-based interface system. If a soldier has an inquiry about anything pertaining to their education benefits, GIMS is the resource that Education Counselors use to assist soldiers further in continuing their education. Please refer to this How To Guide to get more familiar with GIMS.
